H1t4m

Lurker
Hi, my mac can't seems to read my S3 via usb cable. I have already download and install the Android file transfer software and tried both MTP and PTP mode.
Is anyone else having this problem?

i'm running the following softwares.

Android version 4.04

Mac OS X version 10.7.4

Android File Transfer version 1.0 (1.0.37.1389)

I just converted from IOS to android, still a noob so and help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The S3 doesn't want to play nice with Android File Transfer yet. Your best bet is to use Kies. Download the latest version from Samsung home website version 2.0. Once done downloading, open Kies and then connect your S3. It will function similar to iTunes at this point, but where you wait for the device to be detected, and then you can import and export files back and forth. Sorry, but Mac just isn't user friendly with Android. I think Google did this on purpose. :D

I'm in the same boat as you... new to android from IOS and 2 macs. Neither will connect with Kies. I have gotten airsync to work on my 18 mo macbook air. My 6 yr old macpro won't work.

I have a 2010 27" iMac and downloaded version 2.0 of Kies. Works perfectly with my S3.

Hi guys, thanks for the feed backs. i gave kies a try and it works like a charm. It works kinda like itune, but i find a little inflexible as i can't drag and drop. Or am i missing something? Thanks again guys
