Help save my relationship

KarpSlarp

Lurker
Please, for the love of God. Could someone help me?
I innocently screenshotted a fb post and sent itt to the wife and my wife seen I had a heart in my notifs.
I don't own any dating apps or anything and I'm very loyal.
I do play a lot of random games though.
I just need help in finding out what app it's from!
She basically got upset and thinks I'm cheating.
I don't wanna lose her to an app notif.
I just need help, please. Sorry If I don't post this in the right area or forums.
I just can't seem to figure it out :(

I can't for the life of me explain what this notif is that popped up in a ss I took on my phone.
My wife pointed it out and called me out on it and got mad and hasn't spoken to me since.
She thinks it's a dating app or something, but all I play is random mobas, strategy games and slot games. I'm truly loyal and this is upsetting cause it's upsetting to her.
Could anyone help figure out what it is?
I never clicked it or anything as I deleted notifs out of habit and never knew until she pointed it out

Well if it's in your notifications it's one of your apps. Unfortunately hearts are very common icons, and used by all sorts of apps, so a generic-looking heart icon is a tricky thing to identify, and not knowing what apps you have installed doesn't help.

Heck, your own avatar has a similar symbol in it. Is that related to anything on your phone?

I have screenshots of all my apps installed but it would of been to much to upload. And no, my PFp is just an AOD

Emphasize to your wife that heart icon could represent any number of things other than some kind of secret relationship app. And even though the organ beating in our chests isn't actually shaped liked that, it is a long-standing and well-used heart shape symbol that's recognized in many cultures to be related to a heart organ. So maybe it's notifying you about the 'health' of your phone, or do you play a Hearts card game app? Or use a heart monitoring app of some sort? But whatever the case, dig into the Settings menu to find the app or service that might be the culprit. It's likely to be in the Apps or the Notifications menu.

Why not you and her go through the installed apps on your phone so you both can see what is installed?
We have, she is convinced it's a dating app that is gone or hidden. When i know certain it isn't, all I do is work and play video games/slot games lol

I play a game called heart of Vegas but it has yet to give me a notification. It looks pretty similar? Wouldn't you agree? However for the life of me, I can't find out if that's their notification, cause it barely sends notifications

Or swipe down, long press the notification, and see what app it is from.
At the time when I sent her the SS with that heart notif, I didn't notice it. Out of habit I cleared my notifications before she asked about the heart icon.
So it made me look even more guilty, even though I don't even know what it is or where it was from.

OK, so, any app you install leaves a trace. Whether in Play, or on your phone. In play you can view all previously installed apps, and to my knowledge, you can't delete them. So you could review these with your wife. Also, each app installed creates a folder on your phone, so use a file explorer like xplor or something similar and look at the folders on your phone for anything you may have removed, but wasn't in Play. I'd do step one(review apps from play) first before installing the file browser lest she think you already cleaned up the dormant directory.

And, as @Dannydet said, there needs to be some trust. FWIW, in my experience, hearts at least used in dating or hookup apps. Mostly in health and fitness or casino apps.

The only thing my wife would get jealous of regarding me would be my love for bagels, sushi and pizza. Other than that, there are no worries. Therefore I would suggest counseling for the two of you. Things are clearly gone downhill pretty far. Best wishes.
