I just found some sharing apps on my phone which i quickly stopped/uninstalled updates. I don't know if the app itself is still there although i don't see it in application manager.
Recently had my band acct hacked and thousands stolen. I was doing online banking so I'm sure this was related. How do I make sure my phone is clean? Do I need to completely restore it? Help!
Thanks, Andrea

Well it entirely depends on what apps you have installed yourself, what these apps you didn't install are and where did you get your apps. Besides, if the apps you are talking about can only uninstall updates, and not the app itself, it's probably a system app, hence it wouldn't have anything to do with your problem since it's built into the phone. Unless your phone itself is a shady device, such as a cheap chinese device.

Well, what is your phone anyway?

As Chanchan indicated, an app that cannot be uninstalled is a system app, also known as "bloatware" since it takes up phone resources and cannot be removed. A factory reset will wipe USER data, apps and cache... but will do nothing to the SYSTEM partition where bloat resides.

If you have sharing system apps that cannot be removed, you have two options:

(a) Root the device if you can and install Titanium Backup Paid. You can "freeze" any app with it, and the app will not run.
(b) Get another device that does not have these "sharing" apps installed.

I hope this helps. It's great to have you here :)

Unless these sharing apps aren't what you think they are. For example, ALLShare isn't a sharing app. It's a screen mirroring app.

I have an Avant. Yes Allshare is what i found! Is that something that was put on by a hacker? I never saw it there before.

Nope. Allshare is a system app. It's something Samsung made. Basically, it was there when you bought the phone and poses no security risk at all. All it does is just allow you to stream your phone to a Samsung smart TV if you have one.
