Root Help to Dethrottle Phone

Yesterday I was googling on how to dethrottle Boost 's 2.5gb cap and found a forum on this site explaining how to do this http://androidforums.com/galaxy-s2-boost-mobile-all-things-root/664780-guide-how-disable-boost-data-throttle-confirmed-works.html It goes faster and I don't get throttled down but when I did this, I couldn't access YouTube or the Play store. I tried to restore the files as the forum said to backup the files but it didn't fix it so I had to do a full restore. What I want to know is if a developer can help dethrottle without breaking Play store and Youtube access.

Did you do as the tip said and make a backup of the original folder before you started doing anything else? You may have restored the files, but you have to restore the permissions on the folder too.

But get used to it. Data is, for the most part, going to be unlimited from now on (well, maybe another couple of years until the last carrier comes on board - MMS took a couple of years for everyone to work together) - but it won't be unlimited full-speed data. They're going to throttle after XGB, and the throttling will take place at their office, the way your ISP "throttles" you to whatever speed you buy. Whatever any dev does now, it won't do any good once the carrier converts to in-office throttling. If they're sending you the data at 20kbps, your phone can't do anything to make it be 20mbps.

Thank you for your response and yes I did backup/ restore the original files and replace the permissions and wiped the dalvin-cache and it didn't work for me so I restored my whole system. In short, it can be dethrottled but it wouldn't last for long?
