help to resist - IPhone/iTouch

Brilliant. All iPhone users are dumb. Case closed. [/sarcasm]

That isn't the point. The point is that many people blindly want the iphone, and they don't know why (other than "because it is the best phone").

I actually know someone who bought an android phone but never put any apps on it and only uses it for calls and text. They bought it because they were told it was a good phone.

The op should do some research and buy a phone for something other than the name. Coming here to ask the question is a good first step, but ultimately he needs to form his own opinion.

I had a Itouch and at the time it was better than anything else at the price, things have moved on now and the phone I have now wipes the floor with it (Galaxy s) the Iphone 4 also has a great screen I had the choice when my contract was up and I went for the GS because I wanted some freedom to do what I wanted with the phone, mind you I enjoy tweaking and trying new firmwares if your not bothered about being locked in to Apple go for it but try and see a top end Android phone next to an Iphone 4 then decide also I got my GS free and I would have had to pay

Haha, as to the first sentence: I want an iPhone 4

That video never gets old ..

Anyway, The iPod Touch is a good media device, its what it is designed to do.. play movies, music, games.. etc.

If that is what you're looking for, then that is your choice.

Android phones are great devices in their own way. They are customizable, they make phone calls, they are good communication devices (Text, IM, Email, Social networking). They are decent for games and will only get better now that other game developers are starting to jump on board.

I personally think the Androids are decent music players.

I use my Droid X mainly for communication. I have an iPad to fill the other voids and if I really need to game, I'll use my PS3.

You really can't go wrong with either device.... I will say as an ex iPhone user (and I had an iPhone 4 too), now that I have my X I don't miss the iPhone.

That being said, the iTouch is a very nice device. The one thing that it kicks my DInc's butt in is playing music. My DInc just doesn't have a media player comparable to the iTouch's player.

Agreed. I still use my iTouch exclusively for music. That way, I conserve my phone battery for more important tasks. I don't mind carrying two devices at all. That's what purses are for. Of course, if you're a dude, this could be a problem. :p

I have had an iPod Touch for a couple of years now and have a Droid X on order. The Mrs. recently got a Droid2.

Let me say that once my X arrives, the Touch will be relegated to alarm clock duty only.

The Droid does everything the Touch can, plus it is a phone and has 3G access.

Except play gapless audio.
