I realize there are a number of Battery Drain issues/threads already listed.
I would like to keep this thread as a generic (not vendor or international/domestic version specific) place to report information that may help us all.
There is an application in Google Play called "Elixir 2". It is a free application to use and provides a good amount of realtime details of the system CPU/Memory usage.
My phone as of late (on VZW so no recent firmware updates) has started like many here to become hot ~105 degrees and use battery at an alarming rate.
I am looking at gathering concise data while this event is occuring. Elixir 2 is in essence a graphical "TOP" utility that will show all processes/services that are currently running and what their CPU and Memory usage on about a 1 second update interval.
If you open Elixir 2 and go to "running" and then press the four bars near the top (settings) and select sort by "CPU Usage" then you will see (while the event is happening) which process/service is spiraling out of control. These are often called "runaway" processes. They run away with CPU and sometimes memory "called a memory leak" and sometimes both.
I want to find the culprit/culprits be it system processes (not as likely) or be it newly installed/updated applications (more likely).
Any help/data would be much appreciated by all here!
