Help to turn off WiFi

Hey welcome to the forums. 
What device are you using? Normally, it's under Settings -> Wireless and Networks.
You could also add a toggle to one of your homescreens. Hold your finger down on an empty row on one of the screens, in the menu that pops up, select Widget, then Power Control. The wireless toggle is the dot with the 3 semi circular lines above it.
