Help Uninstalling apps

How do I uninstall apps using a Samsung G3? The traditional way isn't working. I want to uninstall certain apps that came with the phone that I don't use and are using data.

Welcome Dreamhalla!
I dont think you can remove the apps (bloatware we call it) that came with the phone unless you root it.

Edit: can you go into those apps and stop the syncing that is going on?

Welcome to Android Forums, dreamhalla.

For you to be able to delete apps that came with your phone you will need to root it. (acquire administrative access). If you'd like help with that, you can find the details in one of the "All things Root" subforums in http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s3/. Be careful to choose the right carrier because there are slight but important differences. Or you can tell us your carrier and we'll find it for you.

As luna suggested, at the very top of that page, listed are most carriers.
Look in your carriers "All Things Root" section.

No worries, just be sure to read really carefully. And if you dont understand something about the rooting process, please ask. Follow directions carefully and you will be on your way to freedom

I appreciate all the posts, just too scary for someone like me to do. The step by step one, I read it all and my brain almost exploded! lol. I just "thought" I could get rid of them like the "traditional" way. Live with them I guess :/
