Help HELP Updating Motorola Droid 1 to 2.2

I bought a Motorola Droid 1 on EBay and I need help updating it from 2.1 to 2.2 please. I tried talking to Verizon both in person and on the phone and they were no help. Can someone please give me directions on how to manually update my Droid?

go to setting - about phone - and click on system update...that should look for it and download it

I've already tried that but it just keeps saying its currently up to date. Can I manually do it?

There are now three 2.2 related updates. The first was the update from 2.1 to 2.2, which I have labeled Step 1. Then there was a minor update, which is Step 2. Note, the file in the second step requires having the update applied in Step 1, hence why you can't skip directly to FRG22D.

Also, an update was released today, which takes it from 2.2 to 2.2.1. So, these steps should get you ready for the update released today, which hopefully would then be pushed to you.
