Help [help] usb port problems doesn't connect well

Hi, my samsung galaxy s i9000 requires pressure or a bit of tilting on the usb cable to make the phone charge. It used to be able to connect to the mac (I've tried it on both windows and mac) but doesn't anymore so i cannot sync or whatever.

Please help as I am wondering if this is a problem with my cable or my usb port. MY USB PORT IS CLEAN AS WELL DON'T ANSWER WITH CLEANING ISSUES.

Then try changing the cable which is cheap. If problem persists, the connector inside your Galaxy needs replacement as you are not willing to clean anything. :(
 
I've changed the cable as well but still no dice ... Any info about how to change the connector? I'm not sure if my provider would fix this problem for me as it is a device issue :(
 
Changing the connector is not an easy task, you need expertise and certain tools.

If you got this set on contract, why not ask the provider to change it for you ?

If I had this set, I would have used a micro tip tweezer to lift up the golden pins inside the USB connector on the phone. These pins are flexible and lose tension with usage.
