Help Help using S3 in car?

Newbie
Hey all,

Im new here but have been reading the boards over the past month, I got the Samsung S3 last week after having all iPhones previously! loving the S3 though and the Android OS.

My problem is I have a VW Scricco with and RNS 510 but it wont mount my songs when connected through USB (MDI) I have to revert to bluetooth which I dont like as you cant see all your music.

any ideas how to get around this?

I have the same in my Honda. I think is android problem. I've read something about usb audio drivers being needed. My galaxy s2 was the same

I have to stick with 3.5mm Jack connection for now.

You can't get around this. It's an issue with Android itself, not the phone. You have two options. Bluetooth, like you are doing or connect via aux input to a 3.5mm jack (headphone jack). If you don't have this with your current stock or aftermarket stereo, an adaptor can be installed to allow your stereo to work with the headset jack. This option allows you to see what is playing on your screen and it is what I have installed on my Chevy truck.

this is really dissapointing, i have been reading on the net that you can potentially mount the sd card to get it to work?

really want sonething instead of putting stuff onto another device.

My stereo has a usb connector, but itcan not see the phone. I believe, not sure, that the drive needs to be formatted to fat32 in order to be seen? But no matter what, you'll never be able to plug an android phone in and expect to control anything like Pandora via car controls. This is one big advantage to iphones. It is awesome to plug an iphone in, have it charge and control pandora via the steering wheel radio controls.
