Help Help: Video Streaming Stopped Working

Using the Captivate on AT&T (of course) and for the last day and a half I haven't been able to stream videos through the youtube app or the youtube website... how do I fix this. I've already rebooted it 3 times which normally helps if the phone won't play music or videos, but that's not helping either.

Help please.

I was getting "can't play" or something like that on Youtube on my Captivate and it was driving me crazy. Here's what I did and it's working:

Uninstall Youtube and Flash Player. (Both are on Market.) If you've been updating Flash, you may need to uninstall the last update and the original installation. None of these (Youtube, Flash update or Flash original installl) would unstall nicely. I had to use Titanium Backup to find them (I guess from a prior backup) and unstall them from there. That is probably a sign that those installs were corrupted somehow.

Once they were are all gone, I turned on and off for good measure. Thinking back, I probably should have taken the battery out too.

Then I installed a fresh, up-to-date version of Flash Player. Then I installed Youtube again.

I've now checked about 10 videos over the course of the afternoon, and they all work. :)

Good luck. Rocketman_dc
