Help Viewing Phone Info Page

Hey all,

I just got a lucid, but I live in a city that does not have 4GLTE yet. I have rooted my phone andIbam trying to find a way to turn off 4G because it is noticably killing my battery searching for a signal. I have installed a couple different 4G toggle apps that try to take me to the 'phone info" page but they get blocked by the system and a message saying "access to phone info is prohibited" pops up. Since I am rooted and coming from a galaxy nexus, i have to believe there is a way to disable what is blocking me from veiwing phone info. Does somebody know where I can look using root explorer or something to edit a script somewhere or delete it altogether? Bottom line i want 4G off until my town gets it. I did use search forums and saw a similar question in general, but i figured my question is different becasue of root.

Update:

After spending a lot of time trying to get to the bottom of this. I have found an app called Hidden Menus that takes me to the testing menu. In this testing menu there are four options. All of which are viewable except for the one on the top called "Phone information". This is the menu that has the 3g/4g toggle setting, which I was able to confirm on my sister's htc thunderbolt. Unfortunately when I try to click on this menu, I get redirected to the testing menu and the little popup "Access to phone information is prohibited" comes up. So basically I am still trying to access that menu. I have also determined that this menu is called the IOT Hidden Menu and it is found using root explorer under /system/app/. How can I gain access to this? Is it something that can be edited in the build.prop? Can the app be edited? I am completely puzzled and I do not feel like a root user when I am "Prohibited" from something on my phone.

Once again any help is appreciated.
 
Wow, I really need to read better... Sorry, I thought I had an answer for you, but it was totally incorrect, but I will look myself as well.
