My phone dropped in a sink for maybe one second, it was fine for an hour then the screen went all discoloured, i set it in rice and it was back to normall in 15 minutes... 3 hours later the screen is flashing on and off and is completely tinted green. I have NO idea what to do, its been in rice all night and it still doesnt work properly. Any ideas?
I just got this phone less than a month ago too...

Hi hayleyzur welcome to Android Forums.

First thing I've got to say is, is the phone insured for accidental damage?

When you say "dropped in a i sick", you mean it got dunked in vomit? If it got the whatever inside of it, that could certainly do damage, because AFAIK it's somewhat corrosive. It's not like clean water that can be dried out, and often the phone will work again.

If the phone dropped in a SINK of water and got wet, then you can try this:

Immediately turn off the phone and remove the battery (if the battery is removable). Put them both in a ziplock bag half filled with dry, uncooked rice and seal the bag. Put it somewhere for 12-24 hours, allowing the rice to draw moisture out of the phone and battery. If the phone got REALLY wet, it may take 48 hours to get dry.

After that, put the battery back in and try turning it on.

The lesson we can all take away from this is: Electricity and water never go together well. If your phone gets wet, do NOT try to turn it on until it is completely dry.

I hope your phone turns out to be okay once it's dry :)

Welcome hayleyzur, glad to have you here :)

Hopefully your phone works once the rice has done its job. In the future please refrain from turning the device on once it has been completely in water. This is because you want to preserve the hardware inside the device and turning it on can cause even more damage to the device.

Hope you enjoy the site and get your device working 100% :D
