Help help with a broken power button?

Newbie
Hello, I bought a Meep off eBay a few months back for my nephew (7 yrs old), and he has really loved it. (Uncle did, also. :-) But after lots of use, the tab appears to have broken off the internal power switch. I went ahead and took it apart just to see if it was something I might be able to fix (see photos).

Are there any options for repair with this? If so, can you give me an estimate? If no repairs, could I possibly purchase a part?

Thanks very much,
Matt in western NC

Hi Matt! I'm sorry to say that a power switch is one thing we can't fix remotely nor does Oregon Scientific offer to sell just that part. Usually, if you contact our call center, they can set you up with a replacement Meep if it qualifies under warranty- because yours is 2nd hand, I cannot be sure how they would handle it, but they are the best resource in this case in terms of knowing whether you are covered for a replacement. I do know some people have attempted self repair, but it seems to involve a certain knack to do so, and we can't recommend it. Since you may already be going that route, you could try a local repair shop if you have one nearby or post a message on our Facebook Wall and perhaps those who have done the procedure would have some guidance. -Jill

Understood. And yes, I understand re_: the warranty, too. I will call. If ythey cannot help, I may see if I can fix.

Thank you for the help.
