Help with Aldiko app

Newbie
After much searching, I decided to go with Aldiko as my e-reader on my Samsung tablet. I'm having two issues I can't seem to fix.

1. I can put books on a micro sd card, but if I want access to the book info ( covers, blurb, etc) I have to import to Aldiko, which takes up internal memory. Is there any way to get this info without importing?

2. Is there any way to stop the app from importing duplicates?

Thanks for any help!

I dropped Aldiko for the same reason. I tried most readers and settled on FB as I could at least FIND the file tree to load the book.

Could it be that app that shows a picture of a bookshelf for your library expects to import? FB just opens the cover of the book and the book seems to stay on the card.

Mantano Reader is way better than either FB or Aldiko in my opinion. The paid version allows you to find the file tree to load the book, it keeps the books where you store it, and it can arrange books according to series, author, etc. It also has a bookshelf view much like Aldiko.

It's really frustrating because I took the time to convert my entire library to ePub only to find out Aldiko won't use the micro-sd card.

Really? Awesome! I hadn't heard of this reader before, but I'll check it out. Thank you!
