Hello,
New member and long time user of android here. I am a web developer by profession
and have always enjoyed the control i could exert on my laptop/pc , since I have always
been able to install what ever OS I liked, Linux, Windows, Solaris, hell even dos 6.0 lol.
Recently I started looking into doing the same (maybe install a fresh version of android 2.1 on it) to my old android phone (HTC Hero)
and after a lot of searching on the net, I'm starting to contemplate that it might not be as simple as I thought since smartphones
are not as open to fiddle with in comparison to PCs/laptops.
What I want to know is if there is any way I can download a fresh version of android on my HTC Hero,
google's website only provides info on how to build and install the OS for the Nexus and a Motorola phones.
Also does anyone know if Microsoft is planning to release windows phone 8 as an OS so it can be installed on phones
just like Windows 8 os ?
Can someone please help ?
