Help with calender app

Hi

I'm looking for some help trying to find my ideal calender app. I am currently using the stock app on my sony z1 compact but it doesn't seem to work the way I want. Ideally I would like an app that when a widget is used, it shows the evens for the coming week or so. At the minute the app only shows events starting from tomorrow, which doesnt help if i want to check something for today. I would also like to be able to view my calender/todays event as a notification when I pull down the drop down menu from the top of screen. Can this be done? Also I dont like the main calender app look, when it only signifies an event with a thin grey line on the days date, which is hard to see if you just have a quick glance. I also would rather list events as lasting all day rather than a specific time, but this results in a reminder or notification not activating as there isnt a specific time for it. I hope this makes sense to someone and I know it seems a lot to ask, but hopefully with all the apps out there someone has come across a one with all I would like. Thanks in advance.

I've been using Jorte for a long time now and been pretty happy with it. I'd recommend taking it for a spin.

I use CalenGoo, it's paid but really, really nice. I've also used (a long bit ago) Simple Calendar Widget, it's free and has a lot of nice features. Both are very customizable and the widgets are great.

I think if you set reminders they will show in the drop-down, not sure though honestly. I use a separate reminder app for that so I don't miss stuff :)

Not sure exactly what you mean about all day events but they will show on either widget for, well, the whole day.

I think I have heard of Jorte mentioned before so I will certainly give it a try, thanks! Ill let you know how I get on.

Thanks, I'll look both up :) I think what seems to happen on my phone is if I add an event to my calender and put a start time of say, 10 until midday, I might get a reminder 10 minutes before the start time. But if the event is listed as lasting all day, there is no mention or reminder of it throughout the day. Hence why a constant view of it in the drop down menu might be nice. Sorry if I'm not explaining myself well!

Oh, OK, I see what you mean. Yeah, on any widget it should just stay there all day long and not go away until midnight.

I have birthdays set for all day and they just stay on my widget, which is on my home screen, so I eventually see it even though there is no reminder set.
