Help with decision please.

hi all.. im considering getting an arc, but have a few questions.
i have used an htc desire hd for over a year, but its broken. i did think about getting another but fancy a change.
is the arc better or worse in general?
does it find and keep a gps signal easily for navigation. i had many problems with my htc, sometimes taking a few min.
is the sound quality with headphones any good. is the volume loud?
what is the current version of android its on. ie 2.3.5?
will it get ice cream sandwich?
are there any common issues with any features?

I have been using the Arc for a few months now and I've used the GPS without any problem so far. I'd say depending on the headphones that you use the quality and volume might not be as good. I've been using the LiveSound and it works really good. The current Android Version on that phone is 2.3.4 and in just a few weeks will be updated to ICS.
