Help Help with duplicate sms/mms, problem with mms.apk

I have a rooted unlocked droid razr.

Phone: Mtorola Droid Razr
My carrier does not allow me to use unlocked cellphones so that I had to set the apn settings from my carrier AND push a customized mms application into system/app using root explorer.

I think the customized mms.apk is from Galaxy S2 but not completely sure.
Now I can send and receive sms/mms but every time a receive a message i receive a duplicate. I assume it is because I have 2 applications in the phone.

I looked into system/app folder and I have only one mms.apk file which is the one I pushed, the name of that app is "messaging". I assume I have to erase the application that came originally with the phone which is the "sms/mms" app.

Anyone who could help me?

By duplicate do you mean notifications or texts in your inbox?

If notifications, try and go into Text Messaging and its settings and disable notifications.

I used to have the problem with duplicate messages when I froze email engine on my Milestone 2.
 
I mean duplicate messages in my inbox...
I am sure it is because I have to applications within the phone but for razr it doesn't appear to be mms.apk for the "sms/mms" application....

I found the .apk.
For future reference, if someone has the same problem.
It is "conversations.apk" that is the one that razor uses for texting.
Erasing conversations.apk and leaving the customized mms.apk solved the problem.
Now I am not getting duplicate messages.
