Try downloading this APK to your tablet and installing it:

Get the NEW Android Market Now [Download]

After you install, it'll probably want to update itself (and will do so without telling you).

It shouldn't matter. You're running Android 2.2, which is a phone OS (not a tablet OS). But a quick Google search finds:

Download New Android Market (.apk) For Android 2.2, 2.1 and Prev Versions

Install Android Market 2.2.11[Download Link+Guide] | TheTechJournal.com

https://groups.google.com/a/googlep...d-market/appy-talk-all-about-apps/qvaigxgOlV4

This last one has a discussion on it. But there's a link in there, too.

ive just downloaded gapps-gb-20110828-signed-1.zip straight onto my tablet. How do i install this properly??

I don't know how to get that to work, then. Chinese tablets lack a lot of the standard apps that are in Google because they are not permitted in China. Perhaps some searches on Google could help?

There's a couple of other files like vendor apk, etc that need loading. You can probably find instructions here:
Android Tablet Forum

I have market on my Coby, but it still isn't reliable. You can find other stuff through Getjar.
http://www.getjar.com/. Some stuff just won't work on a wifi only tablet. Some stuff that market says won't work will. You will just have to test.

Could anyone please link me to something that will give me step by step instructions in how to do all this please. Im really struggling to find the correct method for my partners tab!!

thanks peoples

mark

I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but I've found that anything I want to do, I have to read about 5 forums and also between the lines. A lot of those that know an OS or can help either use the phone posting shorthand, or are in such a hurry that they think that everyone understands a certain term. So it doesn't get explained.

It took me quite a bit of reading before I rooted the phone, and some experimenting before I got the tablet working.

Here's a video with SOME explanation.

It's not just phone forums. I've seen it with Ubuntu. Had a printer problem, most everyone's response was do I have this, that enabled, install this, etc.
The problem was a setting in Firefox about:config!
