Help with google voice

telovoy

Lurker
New Android user here.
I switched from an Iphone. Im on ICS now and pretty happy with the new system, however there is a few quirks i would like to understand here.

Google Voice: I use it every now and then, and i was used to having a dialer inside the GV app to call numbers, or having the option to see my contacts, OR going through my phone's native contact list and having an option to use GV to place the call or text.
On the Android version, i dont have these options anymore, leaving me with the only one being "Ask every time i make a call". So if i want to call someone with GV i have to go though the settings and activate the option.. Pretty annoying

So is there an option to place a GV icon inside the contacts or a work around for this? or GV just does not integrate with the contacts list the way the iphone does?

VoiceChoice is a great app for automating calls with GV. You select what numbers to dial with GV and/or what numbers to dial using your cell number.
For texting...do you want to use GV all the time or no? You can set your text default in contacts to GV. If you only want to use it sometimes then just use the GV app.
It's not as integrated as it should be if you ask me, especially since it's Google!

I Use it every now and then if i post ads on craigslist so i may need to call numbers that are not on my contact list, but are on the phone's call log on the missed calls section. So i wish there was an option to call them back from there or just having a dialer to call new numbers that are also not in my contact list.

YEs it seems very bizarre, being a google service on an android platform and noy being really flexible with the options.
Thanks for the tip
