Help with HAndcent settings?

Having some trouble getting handcent configured right. I want it to only show the notification in the top status bar and the dock. I do NOT want the popup window. Can someone tell me which settings to use? I have tryed everything and cannot get it right

Settings>Notification Settings>Enable popup [uncheck] Popup is disabled, Notifications [green check] Display message notifications in status bar
