Help Help with kies upgrade to 2.2 PLEASE

I have finally managed to get kies to recognise my SGS (after a lot of messin around it was a format of the internal SD card that worked in the end). Kies now connects ok shows the updage to 2.2 available but then i click agree terms and start it closes the update window and just disconects and reconects the phone again. No matter what I try it just does the same. I'm so sick of wanting a firmware that is up to date and having to battle to do it. No other phone make ive every had has been this frustrating. Please help
