Help with LG Optimus Logic Root

so i have been trying to root this phone all night long. i could use some help. i have been following the guide in this link:

i have made one mistake

i ran mkdir /data/local.prop by mistake
someone please help me fix the mkdir issue and help me root.

I don't think you could have made that directory because it should have already existed. What was your error?

it is at this point in the tut.
echo 'ro.kernel.qemu=1' > /data/local.prop
rm /data/local/tmp/profile_calib_m
exit
and the error is:
cannot create /data/local.prop: is a directory
