Help with "lost" download

Taffydude

Lurker
Hello folks, hoping someone will be able to help me here. I recently downloaded The Sims free to play, but when it started to install, it crashed and rebooted my phone ( HTC Desire). When the phone came back on, there was no sign of the download in the Manage Applications section, and now 13mb of my precious space has been taken, and I am stumped as to where this rogue program may be hiding. I need to delete it, as I only have 1.97 mb free on my internal storage.

Hello and welcome aboard. Thanks for choosing Android Forums to come for help. :)

You can find an installed app in the "downloads" app inside your app drawer. Also, if the app was installed on the device, you should be able to uninstall it from inside the "google play" store. Open up Google Play Store and tap menu - my apps - find the app in question and uninstall it.

I hope this helps. You should also check in to your device's area of support for some awesome tips & tricks on your device. Link: http://androidforums.com/htc-desire/.

Thanks for the reply, I looked for a downloads folder but it was only on the sdcard, and there was no sign of the app. Similarly on Google Play Store, there is no sign of The Sims being installed. I've copied all my contacts and stuff so I guess I'll go for a factory reset.

On a semi-related note, is there a way to weed out the stuff I've tried and that Google Play thinks I have installed but I currently don't because it didn't suit me?

I don't think its possible using your device, or if it's even possible for that matter. All the applications that you have ever installed on your device are now shown inside your "my apps" section and can be easily reinstall.

Ugh. I would love to get rid of clutter, such as about five other e-reader apps I tried before I settled on fbReader, etc.
