Help with low volume speakerphone please

I have 2 Samsung s3 (verizon) mine the white one, the speakerphone is noticeably louder then the other which is pebble blue. Both have the exact same settings including the extra volume setting. I have tried everything to make it as loud as mine but have yet to find the answer.

The second problem is just a setting. I'm using the briefing calender but my news won't update. It reads the same news for the last couple of days. Can someone help me with this?

I thought someone would have given some thought to my question but see I was on my own. No worry in case anyone has this problem a factory reset took care of the speaker problem. I also figured out how to fix the updating news. Sorry if you felt it was a useless question.
