Help help with .mov video files

I downloaded VLC media player to play .mov video files, but it doesnt really play them.

It keeps asking me to open the vlc app on my pc.

Is it not a stand alone app that runs on its own?

Ayman I'm not sure but have.you tried MX player? It might be able to play .mov files
