help with new nexus 4

Hi

My name is Arnav Ahluwalia and I just started using a new nexus 4. I was trying out a couple of third party launchers, namely apex launcher and smart launcher. I also downloaded uccw widgets and some more extensions of these three above mentioned apps. After trying them out I wasn't very impressed because to get the complete look I was looking for I had to download some paid apps for which I didn't have a credit card at disposal. So I deleted all the apps as it is with all the extensions. After that I moved back to normal use of my phone. Opened the app jetpack joyride. There was something unusual with the app. Lightly touching the screen used to make the character fly. This time it wasn't the same. I tried tapping the screen multiple times in quick succession which made the screen zoom in. I was using another android device before I started using nexus 4 but nothing like this had ever happened. I somehow managed to zoom out and tried playing the game again. I figured that touching lightly wasn't working anymore. It had to be pressed extremely hard held for 2 seconds approximately. The response time has gone down in all the games similar to jetpack joyride. Temple run, hill climb racing, home run battle 2, stick cricket, stick tennis etc. All had started lagging. I have been trying to understand what has gone wrong but I'm failing miserably. I have since then reset my phone to factory setting and re downloaded all the apps all over again. But the issue has remained. There is still a lot of lag and I honestly feel its been increasing. Kindly help. Also anybody in new Delhi, India area can help me with some local assistance, then that'll be wonderful.

Hello and welcome to Android Forums, Arnav Ahluwalia.

I'm surprised that factory data reset did not remedy the lag issue. Prior to doing that reset, did you perform a backup of the system, and then restore it following the reset?

If so, it's possible you imported the problem (probably looping services competing for resources) upon restore. I'd perform another reset but without a back up of anything other than media or important files.

Other users of that Nexus 4 may have more insight on your issues, so I'm going to link you to the Nexus 4 community here at Android Forums for more precise assistance:

See you over there. :)
