Help with new update to gingerbread

londo45

Newbie
I have a galaxy s gt 19000 with firmware version 2,3,3 and recently updated through kies to gingerbread.xwjvn and i have noticed an ongoing problem post update. My now homescreen upon pressing home has become scrollable page 4. I can no longer set wallpapers to sit 'properly'. If i put a wallpaper of a face up it will initially set to what it should be the when i attempt to scroll the phone suddenly sets page four as my 'home page'. If i scroll to for example page 7 and hit home it will only scroll back to page four where i have no icons. I have used wallpaper wizardii (which i highly recommend) but have deleted that just in case that was causing the problem. Can anyone help me with solving this problem and has anyone had a the same or similar issue. any help or information would be appreciated.

Actually no i didnt. I did not realise i had to. But wont i loose my apps and info? I was under the impression that a 'factory reset' would set my phone to its original condition and wipe out everything i have put on it since i got it. Is that not true. Thanks.

No need to do a factory reset unless it is last resort.

I suspect that the wallpaper app has stuffed something up, have you tried changing your wallpaper?
