New Adroid user coming from Blackberry. It seems I can only search knowing the business name not the person's name. Why. If I am looking for Bill Smith and he works for Acme Cell Phones if I don't remember his company name I can't find him. Is there a way or a an ap that searches by company name and last name?

Welcome to the Android Forums!
Woodland Hills eh? I grew up next door in Canoga Park! Glad I don't live there anymore!
Which Android phone do you have? On my stock Droid X running Gingerbread I am able to search on first name, last name, and company name. I seem to recall being able to do similarly on my DX while still on Froyo. It's possible that you might be running into an issue with your phones implementation of Android, with how the contacts are stored in Android, or maybe you just have a phone having issues.
