Help Help with priority only

I did a warranty exchange on my phone and lollipop lo and behold was loaded on my phone. I hate it. The one feature I desperately need to have was removed. Is there a way to turn off all notifications while in priority mode so that my alarm will go off but the vibration from incoming text and other notifications will shut up. A work around? A app? Anything....I love my phone but the update ruined a feature I love. Help?
 
Well I don't know how to be honest. I preferred Kit kat. I have never rooted or jailbroken my phone. Lol...do I have to to do that? As you can tell I am clueless. :)
