Root Help with Rom choice, please!

I'm totally frustrated at this point, and any comments would be a huge help.

Just got a Sprint Marquee to replace a Moto Xprt. I rooted the zv4 release, and tried out Ctmod. Great Rom, but I need to be able to force roaming as my Sprint service sucks at work. Since the "network selection" is gone from the lghiddenmenu, I went in search of another Rom option. I tried the stock zvc release, but apparently that one also loses the ability to access the roaming option. So the only option I see is to use the zv4 Undeniable Marquee Rom, which is fine as I can still roam on command, but then carrier iq is still in that Rom apparently, and the system update message to go to zvc is super annoying... Any thoughts?

You can use Autostarts to disable the update. Just use the info in this thread. There is also a free app that will allow you to do it. Pretty sure the info is in this thread if you read through it.

Ok great, I guess I'll head back to Undeniable Rom. Should l be concerned about carrier IQ or not? It seems like it should be a deal breaker. But I really need roam control... thanks for the help!
 
Not sure about the carrier IQ. That's a decision you'll have to make. Just know that even though it may be there doesn't mean it's active.
 
Well I went back to Undeniable, so the hidden menu still has roam control. I checked out autostarts, realized that the rom manager had an autostart option similar and removed my update notification, thanks. I also bit the bullet and bought the pro patch for the carrier iq remover, but even after "removal", it still says its there :( I guess I'll keep trying... Oh well, thanks for update help!
