Help Help with Rooting Android

Hey everyone.

I'm having a big problem with rooting my android and am close to giving up.

I have tried different methods such as towelroot, and kingoroot but none of them work. It says my device is not supported.
I have a Samsung S5 mini 4.4.2 and unfortunately the kernel update was after July 3rd last year so I understand that this may be part of the problem. I heard that you can use odin on PC to root your phone but I use Mac, not PC and am pretty sure odin does not work on Mac.

Any help would be appreciated as I really want to root my phone.

Always suggest using PC to root if possible. Found this thread which looks like a "Odin" type program for Mac. Then I found this for rooting S5 mini LP.
Have a read through and check and check again if you are unsure of anything. Ask before doing anything if you are unsure.

Thanks I'll have a look into it.

Do you know any apps that will root without a PC that can work for my type of phone?

None of the one click tools will work apps wise or PC wise. CF Autoroot might work, depends on the build number.

I was working on one earlier same model number and flashed Twrp and SuperSU, upon rebooting SuperSU would say no binary etc. Tried different versions of Twrp, sideloading, regular install etc. No luck. Cf worked then it failed to disable knox and once rebooted the no su binary error.

I tried different versions of SuperSU and the same issues. In the morning i will be flashing a stock rooted rom and done. SM-G800H 4.4.2 NGF build.
