Help Help with saving/detaching a picture from MMS

Hi Folks,
My first post on the forum, need a little help.
I am trying to save a picture I received attached to a text msg. on my old HTC I just tapped picture and it asked where I wanted to save it. On the galaxy note II I don't see any way to choose a location for saving picture. How do I save it to a download or album

Long press the picture and it will ask if you want to save. Then go to 'gallery' and it should show up in a 'download' folder. Thing is, with mine anyway, I have about 4 'download' folders. Not sure why.
