Hi and thanks for the answers I unfortunately am using an unrooted phone (5.0.2). It just says terminal emulator on the screen but the keyboard is royal blue instead of black. The first time I was trying to type in pm get-install-location. I guess I got that far but then it just disappeared. Later attempts didn't get that far. Now it just flashes on and off too fast to read what it says. I've uninstalled some of those unwanted bloatware updates trying to free up some space in order to use it. Then again, one of the main reasons I downloaded it in the first place was to free space by moving apps and other downloads to the SD card. It's hard with an unrooted phone and no Busybox.

I believe you need to use adb shell for the "pm setInstallLocation" command - at least back in 2010 that was the case (one of the members here tried with a terminal emulator with no success).

Don't think you can get Terminal or Busy Box to work on unrooted phone. They both need root permission.

Yes I am rooted. I'm new to all this but have gotten that far. I'm trying to get busy box installed through recovery and keep getting a Zip signature verification failed message I've tryed all busyboxs. I may have already read the answer just didn't know it...kinda loss now need advice plz

Alternatively, if you are having zip signature failures through recovery then you should toggle signature verification off. I'm assuming you are using a custom recovery - if you only have a stock recovery then that will only install signed zips. In that case your options are the link above or to find a custom recovery for your phone, if one exists (do not try installing a custom recovery built for a different phone, bad things will happen if you do).

I am pretty new to all this and I think you answered my problem. I don't belive I have changed the stock recovery. I have a HTC one m8.

Oh I think I read that wrong. One question a custom recovery is part of the rooting process? How would I go about turning off signature verification?

It should be in the recovery options somewhere. Where exactly will depend on which recovery.

Installing a custom recovery is part of my preferred rooting processes, but not all rooting processes include this.

Ok so I believe I am running twrp recovery. Installed with root. I backed up my phone good thing cause I just hit fix permission and I shouldn't of done that lol curnently I am restoring. But I couldn't see anything about signature verification

When you select a zip to install there is a little tick box "zip file signature verification" on the screen where you swipe to confirm you wish to install. That should be unticked.

There's also an option in the "Settings" screen of TWRP (it's the top option on mine once you select "Settings").

So I see what your saying now...I musta been blind lol. So I did uncheck it and now I get a new message and it only says failed now. Moving ahead I guess lol...I posted a pic of the message....don't mind the cracked screen I'm using this phone to practice on.
