Help with virus or adware (or something)

I have a Samsung Note 8 tablet.

Recently I am having a problem where when I start the tablet it brings up the Google Play ap and directs it to some game that it wants to install. Alternately, it tries to bring up my web browser and occasionally I have some sort of small popup in the center of the screen advertising a game or something.

I don't know if this is some sort of virus or if one of the applications on my tablet is doing this.

Is there a way to simply get this to stop or a way to find out or is it just going to be trial and error to unistall applications in hopes of finding what is doing this?

I don't use a bunch of junk apps and I try to be careful what I install.

That can be annoying I'm sure, but it sounds to me like some notifications that some app came with.

No, LOL, I'm not a software pirate, etc. The moniker goes back to the 1970s and pre-dates computers. :smokingsomb:
