Help with virus removal

I have installed something (don't know what) that has installed an app named "Windows-7". It is spelled exactly that way and I am sure that I did not install it. Has anyone come across this? I uninstalled the windows 7 app, but I still need to know what I have to do to get rid of this completely.

Will a factory reset get rid of any virus that I have?

A factory reset should clean out any malware on your phone (there are no Android viruses, but there are other kinds of malware), but may leave things behind on the SD card, so you'll need to pay attention to that also.

Was "Windows-7" an actual app, with an icon in the app drawer and an entry in Settings/Applications, or just a file? It sounds like a name that might be given to a theme or icon pack, or an instructional ebook or video, or maybe an app for accessing the desktop remotely. Did you download any of those things?

Sounds like it could be a Go Launcher theme.

I would strongly suggest that before you install any further app's that you read and inwardly digest the following:-

I don't believe you have a "virus" as you call it. You just simply don't seem to know what you are installing I'm afraid.

You could download Lookout, free from the Market and get it to scan your handset to allay any fears you may have.

Hope this helps. :D

thanks for the help. I just did a factory reset and didn't dl the keyboard apps that I think were responsible. it hasn't come back so far.
