Please help! I believe my phone has been rooted. It started 3 phones ago with my Samsung S8. Factory reset and everything....finally took it to Verizon and they told me it had been rooted....
I did everything I could before I smashed it and switched to TMobile with a new phone, new sim card, new sd cards, new number. Had the new phone for a week before it started acting funny too. That phone is a LG G8ThinQ & I have also been using a Samsung J3 because the LG screen is all messed up. Both of them are doing the same things. Files delete, system settings change, apps appear and disappear,  bluetooth and wifi come on automatically... I am not very good with the phones but I have gotten some knowledge from just reading everything for the past 3 months. This is driving me insane.  Please help.
 
ok well then new phones can't just be rooted.....there is a process to rooting phones. you have to unlock the bootloader and then install a custom recovery and finally use an either superuser or magisk to gain root. it is not a one step process, nor is it quick.

if you are having weird issues....maybe a factory reset is needed.

what i meant to say earlier is that new phones do not just get rooted. there is a long and involved process. so i do not think your phone is rooted.

what files are we talking about being deleted? what apps are being disappearing and re-appearing? are we talking about apps on the home screen?
