Lurker
when pressing any application, key etc... on the x10 screen the volume is very very faint! the other day it was ok - what has changed?

its the keyboard click - any way off making it louder????

I hate to state the obvious but... did you try upping the volume using the volume keys on the side? Maybe they just got bumped.

If you use the volume key when you are running a game or application with sound, it will say that it is changing "Media Volume" as opposed to changing "Ringer volume" when nothing is open, so that might be worth trying.

Try downloading a free app from the Android Market called Audio Manager - has a desktop widget for direct access to media, system, alarm and ringer volumes - might solve the problem with ease of access or at least show if your volume is full - as below

The clicker should be under the SYSTEM volume

My X10 is broken so cant give you the full "how to" but try this app

Quick Settings - Android app on AppBrain

chart

Open the app and then volume control, from there you can set:
Ringer volume
Notification volume
Media volume
Alarm volume
In-call volume
System volume

So you should be able to see what has been turned down :D

No more that we had the same solution with different apps and with in a couple of minutes :)

But audio manager and the volume control on quick settings is the same apart from the skin.
