I just got the Samsung Acclaim from US Cellular. I cant figure out how to set customized ringtones for text messages. like i want to hear a certain song when a certain person text me. HELP

Go to messaging. Hit the menu key. Hit settings. Change notification alert.

i think she wants to know how to set custom text tones for contacts. same thing i'm trying to do. like, i would like a different text tone for my wife then for a text from someone else. same as a custom ringtone, ya know?

Android doesn't include this functionality by default, but I believe that the app Handcent SMS provides what you are looking for.

Ringo Lite is a nice app for this as well.
