I am sure you here that title alot here.
tried using the sholes mod, got to box that asked me to boot in recovery mode by holding down x and power on button, does it mean the power on on the screen or the top of the phone, because I tried the top of the phone and just gave me the option of airplane, silent and or power off?

I know I am not Technologically advanced, please help. thanks.

Turn the phone off first, then when turning it back on hold power and x.

Now I feel stupid, was wondering why it said hold power up? When the phone was still on?

OK, so I opened Sholes updatern how do I know it is working? I never was asked the questions I keep seeing every one talk about, now my phone is black aside from the menu bar at the top.
Help.

No clue, I don't use that app. I prefer doing it manually so you actually know what is going on.
