ok so my boyfriend went through my phone one day and was able to retrieve old deleted messages. i have no idea how he did that and i want to know how. i have a galaxy vibrant. can anyone help? will be very much appreciated. thanks

I am not sure how you would do that... if your boyfriend managed to do it, you may be best asking him how he did it.

I would imagine that you might be able to find an app to do what you have said, but you may get a different answer from other users of your phone in Samsung Vibrant - Android Forums

I have actually just found something that could work for you...

on mine if i go to the phone contacts list and select a contact, then scroll the screen to the right, it shows all messages even if ive deleted them out of the text message app. I want to delete them completely and the only way i know of is to delete the whole contact, which i do not want to do. Hope you find your old conv... and hope someone can tell me how to delete these messages

The above came from this thread but, having read further down the same thread, it sounds like the above was only due to a bug and may have been fixed by an update since!
 
I just check my phone to see if it was possible to find messages I've deleted and there was no way of doing that. I'm not sure about the device you have. I wasn't aware of that could happened. I hope you find ways of preventing such a thing from happening in the future. Best of luck. :)
