I am unsure about the manual... perhaps one of our other members who own the Ace will be able to help you -
As for the music player... the beauty of the market is that there are so many free apps (or free versions of paid apps, supported by ads) that you can try an app and, if you don't like it, delete it and try another - have a look here.
I know that a lot of people have said that Double Twist is quite good... it's what I've got on my phone... this could be worth a look for you!!
