Root Help!

hey guys i just rooted today. I followed instructions from http://www.toms-world.org/android/page/rootinstructions.html but i did not download CWM. everything went smoothly and i gained root access. I then tried to flash my first rom, Tweakstock. I had to convert it from the 7z using 7zip. everything went fine. when looking for it at the recovery mode page, i found my file i put it in, but it just went back up to the top of the page, as if there was no file found. i freaked out and just went back to the ROM folder i had created with Superuser in it. my phone rebooted and now it is completely different. it has a blue theme to it. here are the specs

Hardware: i510.06
Firmware version: 2.3.6
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-EP4-g311a209

what am i running? is this stock? did it go the tweak? i have no clue as to what i am in. i know i don't have root user access anymore. right now im just confused, but happy i didn't mess anything up (i think). anything will help. sorry its longwinded
 
well after googling "tweakstock", them images match up with mine, so i assume im actually running it. any information would be helpful guys
 
If you got rid of the poop brown color from the original UI, you should be running Tweakstock. Go to Settings ---> About Phone ... it should probably mention your ROM in that information?

Does it run good? I've been wanting to run Tweakstock but just haven't gotten brave enough to try it.
 
yes. i am running tweakstock. it is pretty sweet. this was my first time flashing a rom, and i didn't realize that once odin had said "passed" i was done, and therefore proceeded to do like i had originally done to root. the drop down bar is the highlight of it. it has everything you need on it. data, wifi, bluetooth, gps, flashlight, brightness, airplane, vibrate mode, auto sync, screen timeout, lockscreen, reboot, shutdown. the color scheme is awesome. the lock screen is pretty sweet too. my only question now is, how do i know if i flashed pbj with it also?

When you reboot your phone - is it the typical boot animation or a different one - one with a bunch of swirling blue lights (poor description, sorry)? If it's not the typical one, then you likely didn't flash the one with pbj. That being said - the info in your first post makes me think you did flash the one with pbj.
 
Yes. it does have the flashing blue swirls. im loving this setup. pretty sweet. i picked a good rom to be my first to flash.
 
I don't have cwm. is there another way of doing it? and also, could i download cwm through something like getapk.co?
