Help Help......

I have an unlocked htc inspire 4g, that will not power on at all. It just vibrates seven times and done deal, not lights, no action, nothing. I have tried a hard reset, battery pull etc. equaling the same result. So is this phone done? if so will htc warranty it if i got it from ebay being it seems to be a manufactor issue?

Hi Junior!

Sorry to hear you're having these issues with the phone.

It may be a silly question, but have you tried charging the phone for a prolonged period with the originial cables that came with the phone?

As for a warranty claim... I am not sure where you stand, as you did not buy the phone from new (I do not think that you would be covered, but cannot say for certain).

thanks for you response! yes i have tried that method as well and nothing seems to work. as soon as i place the battery in the thing vibrates without pushing anything, so i dont know what else to do. i bought it new off ebay unlocked so i might be S O L

There are moisture indicators on the battery and under the bottom cover next to where your sd card goes. If either one of these are pink then it's possible that the phone was wet at some point. You might check these out. If so then it may be tanked. Let us know. If they are not then you may want to see If you can get the phone into hboot but that is going to be a different animal at this point. Keep this thread going.

5 vibes on the incredible is a qualcom diagnostic mode. i fear the fact that your phone wont power on means that its in some sort of diagnostic mode and have some sort of hard ware failure.

a quick search brought up a few similar situations, all of wich resulted in the phone needing replaced/repaired. :(

nonetheless, have you tried other combinations of key holding during or after the vibes? try vol up/down,up/down/power,vol up/power,any you can think of.

if none of the key combos yield any results, your best bet is to contact the seller and see if they will do anything for you,if the purchase was recent.

failing that, try and contact htc via email or phone, and see if they have any suggestions.

im sorry,i wish i had some better answers for you. :(

thanks for your help..........
after three weeks i finally got my phone back (refrub) the hardware was done i guess? very important note peeps..........if u buy online make sure the warranty is valid and current or HTC will not honor it!

could you give a little more info... what apps do not work? what error messages (if any) do you get?

Hello, I have the exact same problem with my Inspire and was wondering if it's possible to get this repaired without losing text/picture messages? I have things on my phone that are of sentimental value, so my only interest in fixing my phone is to recover them. If everything will be deleted when repaired then it wont be worth it to me. Anyone know about this? Thanks.
