I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and it has always worked fine. Just recently whenever I try to do a google search using my wifi connection it keeps coming up as page not found, if I turn my wifi off then I am able to connect as normal. It is also stopping me from opening links, but I know that I have a connection as I am able to go onto facebook twitter e.t.c e.t.c

Hello and welcome to AF, JMJF. :)

Have you tried clearing the cache on your web browser app or tired clearing the data on it, or even tried a different one like dolphin browser?

I have done all of that. It cant be google because like I said if I turn my wifi off then I can still search using google chrome. Its a really confusing problem and I have drawn a complete blank.

I had a similar but opposite problem. Browser works but apps don't. Apparently it was an issue with the system date. Did you check it?

you'll have to forgive me but I am not sure what you mean by system date. The date that my phone is set to is correct.

The one in settings>date and time. For some reason my phone shows the correct date on the calendar but that date was set to 2000 (beats me why that happened). I set it right and everything worked fine again.

Have you checked to make sure all your apps are up to date and current and that your devices software is up to date? and restarted the phone?

I also have a Galaxy S2 with WiFi problems. 9100M with ICS. The phone itself would connect to network no problem, but there would be no data transfer. You can still see signal strength and connected messages.

And to me it seems to be IP addresses' problem. The all the IPs(IPv4, Gateway) for this phone are all wrong(or it should be wrong). And the Mac and IP address for my phone doesn't match the addresses' that is connected and displayed on my router. I changed from DHCP to static and manually typed out the IPs and it disconnect from the network.

The router seem to have a Android device connected to it, but the MAC and IPv4 addresses are different from my device.

None of the apps that require Internet have access to Internet when it says it's connected to a network. So it's not just the web browser problem. This happened very recently. Never had this problem before.

Try to restart/power on/off the router. See if that fixes it. I don't know if there's any apps that get's you a new set of IPs for your phone. Now my Wifi is working.

I have changed from DHCP to static and manually typed out the IPs and still nothing. I'm wondering if I have removed something that I shouldn't have

Does your gateway and IPv4 addresses on your router match with the ones on your phones? If it doesn't try resetting your router.

Changing to static won't do much. The problem also lies with the mac address. The phone's mac address displayed on my router was different from the actual one on my phone.
