Assuming you are running a recent version of Windows, go to the LG website and download the latest USB drivers for Android. THe next time you connect your phone, it should self-configure and work. Note that some devices are set by default to connect as a media device or a camera. You may need to go into your phone's settings and toggle the setting for "USB debugging" (but try it first by just installing the drivers and connecting).
