Android mid tablet 1.6 i forgot screen lock password please help me to unlock? after 5 atemps it sends me back to the password screen HELP

Unfortunately if you really cannot remember the password you may need to do a factory reset. If there were an easy way of bypassing the lockscreen without wiping the device then a thief could do this too.
