my viper mobile security found malware on a pre-installed app called "service mode". How or can i remove this app to get rid of the malware then reinstall the app? Help!

I believe service mode is a system app preinstalled on manufacturers ROMs. Unless your phone is rooted it is very unlikely that it contains a virus. Its more likely that Vipre is incorrectly identifying it as a virus. I would start by contacting Vipre direct with full details of your phone and the OS version you are running and see what they say.
(If you are not rooted, you cannot remove the app, only a full OS update would do that)
